Abraham Zabludovsky and Teodoro Gonzalez
Arquine, 2014
SKU: 101580
Built in 1981 in the Chapultepec Forest, the Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo is one of the most outstanding works of Mexican architecture of the last century. Designed by Abraham Zabludovsky and Teodoro González de León by express wish of Olga and Rufino Tamayo, the museum is a synthesis of the abstract repertoire of these architects. Since the 1990s, the need to expand this area was evident and in 2012 the new areas were inaugurated, including a major remodeling of existing ones under the architectural design of Teodoro González de León. This publication describes both projects with plans and photographs, including a prologue by Barry Bergdoll, curator of architecture at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as a chronicle by Miquel Adrià and a compilation of testimonials from those who have run the site.
